Jeffrey Lucey's family filed a wrongful death suit against the Department of Veteran Affairs after Jeffrey Lucey was turned away from the medical center. Lucey attempted to get medical treatment from a VA facility in 2004 after he returned from the Iraq war. Instead, the VA turned him away. He killed himself two weeks later.

This suit is certain to be one of several filed against the VA for its poor service and lack of service to many veterans returning from the war. The pressure on the VA to take responsibility is heating up and just last week the VA Secretary Jim Nicholson announced he will step down in October of this year.
