3 Men Killed in Chicago Car Crash

A fatal car collision took the lives of three family members and one other man. Five other people were also seriously injured in the crash, including a baby who was the son of one of the drivers. The three men killed were Jolliffs Thomas, Otis Thomas and Albert Cole Sr. It appears Cole was the driver of one of the cars at the time of the collision.

Cole was driving eastbound when he crossed the center line and collided with the other vehicle, which was traveling westbound. The injured were taken to Mt. Sinai Hospital in Chicago for treatment. Reports state the injuries were serious.

There is an ongoing investigation to determine exactly what occurred. At this point it is difficult to tell due to the poor condition of the vehicles.

Those injured in the car crash may be entitled to compensation for their injuries. The injured and the family members of those killed should contact an attorney to learn what legal steps they may take against the at fault driver.

One Killed and Five Injured in Overnight Traffic Crash

On Wednesday night, February 20, there was a car accident that killed one and injured five, including two police officers.

Eric Gray, 21, of the 2200 block of East 92nd Street, was pronounced dead at 3:45 a.m. at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, according to the Cook County medical examiner's office.

The police officers were in their squad car when the accident occurred and Gray was in the other vehicle that was involved in the crash.

The police officers did not suffer from life-threatening injuries and are expected to recover fully. The three civilians in the other vehicle were taken to Advocate Trinity Hospital and Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, but authorities did not immediately know how severe their injuries were.

No other details have been released and will be available some time on Thursday.

Drunk Driver Kills 17 Man In Chicago

Tracy Bolden was drunk and speeding in his van in the Garfield Park neighborhood when he rear ended the car Marlon Tate was driving. Tate was pronounced dead shortly after the accident. The passenger of Tate's car, 17 year old Laura Kubiak survived the crash despite the van resting on top of the car after the incident.

Bolden was charged with DUI but the charges may be upgraded to felony charges. The family of Marlon Tate may be able to file a claim on behalf of Tate for his wrongful death. Kubiak may also be able to file a claim against Bolden for her injuries. Kubiak and the family of Tate should contact an attorney to find out their legal rights.

Amtrak-Freight Train Collision in Chicago Being Investigated

The National Transportation Safety Board are investigating the cause of an Amtrak train and a freight train collision that injured dozens of people on Friday, November 30 in the south side of Chicago. The investigators are trying to figure out how both trains ended up on the same track at the same time.

Out of the 187 passengers on the Amtrak train, 71 were sent to hospitals in the area. When the collision occurred the passengers were thrown forwards from their seats. Four people had to be retrieved from the front of the train, where the engine of the vehicle is. Of those that were sent to the hospital, only three would be required to stay overnight. No one was in the part of the Norfolk Southern freight train that was hit, and neither of the two workers aboard the train were hurt.

A team of nine NTSB investigators would conduct interviews with crew members, passengers, dispatchers and supervisors in an investigation that could take months, he said. Officials were also awaiting information from an event recorder, a device similar to the flight recorders on airliners.

The Amtrak train was on its way to Chicago from Grand Rapids, Michigan and the freight train was coming from Elizabeth, New Jersey to Chicago.

The spokesman for Norfolk Southern stated that he had no details about what caused the accident and the Amtrak spokesman said it was not clear which of the trains was in the wrong place and did not know if the freight train was stopped or moving when it was hit. Amtrak shares the track with Norfolk Southern, the owner.

I-290 Chicago Rollover, Possible Death Others in Critical Care

A rollover accident on Monday left at least one person in serious condition and possibly caused the death of another person. The accident happened on the Eisenhower Expressway in Chicago near Ashland Avenue. Three lanes had to be shut down after the crash. At the time of the report the Cook County Medical Examiner had not made an official notice of any fatalities.

The people injured in the accident may have a right to take legal action against the person or persons who caused the accident. Greyhound Bus Traveling from Chicago to Indiana Crashes

A greyhound bus traveling along interstate 65 crashed in the early morning hours injuring at least three. The bus was traveling from Chicago to Indianapolis when it possibly blew a tire. It was in Boone County at the time of the accident.

The injured people on the bus may have a legal right to recover for any expenses incurred due to the Greyhound accident. They may also be able to recover for pain and suffering and any lost time at work. Rollover on Chicago's Bishop Ford Kills 1, Injures 4

A rollover on the Bishop Ford Freeway in Chicago left four people critically injured and one man dead. Robin Stokes of Chicago lost his life Sunday after a car cut off the vehicle he was traveling in and caused his vehicle to rollover.

There have been no reports of who was driving the vehicle that cut off the vehicle that rolled over. It is believed the rain was a factor in the accident. There is no indication speeding caused the accident.

Robin Stoke's family and those injured in the accident should contact an attorney to find out what their legal rights are. Those injured in the accident may be entitled to recover for pain and suffering, lost wages and past and future medical care.

Chicago Man Dies In Car Crash(2)

Carlos R. Daniels of Chicago, Illinois died Wednesday after he lost control of his car and it crashed into a tree. It is believed that Daniels, who was driving a Ford Escape SUV, was side swiped by another car that was traveling on Chicago Avenue. At this time there are no suspects in the hit and run.

Daniels was the only person in the car at the time of the accident. His family may be able to take legal action against the driver of the car for the death of Carlos Daniels. The family may be able to recover for the loss of Daniels' life, including lost wages and the famliy's emotional loss. The family should contact an attorney to determine what their legal rights are.

Chicago Hit and Run Severs Man's legs

A sixty year old man was the victim of a hit and run in Chicago's South Suburbs on Friday. Michael Cranston was killed when he was hit by a car while on Matteson roadway. The collision caused Cranston to be propelled through the air, landing with his body through the windshield of the suspect's car. His legs were severed and were found by police on Friday evening. Cranston's body was not found until Sunday.

Marcus Hampton, 26, turned himself into police on Wednesday. Cranston's family may be able to bring a wrongful death lawsuit against Hampton for the death of Cranston. They may be able to recover for his lost life, pain and suffering and lost income.

2 Killed In Chicago Car Accident

A van driving on Chicago's Stevenson Expressway on Monday afternoon crashed after brake failure. The accident caused the death of two people, one a 17 year old girl and the other a man who was believed to be in his 20s. The crash occurred near County Line Road in Burr Ridge, Illinois around 12:15 p.m shortly after the van entered the expressway.

The van was lent to a Chicago labor agency, and it is believed it had faulty brakes causing the accident. The van veered across the center lane and off the guardrail, eventually flipping onto its side. There were 14 people in the van at the time of the crash. Those who survived did not suffer from serious injuries.

The families of the two people killed may be able to recover for the wrongful deaths of their family members and should contact an attorney to find out what claims they may have against the driver, owner of the van and the Chicago labor agency.
