The salmonella outbreak that has affected at least 491 people that attended the Taste of Chicago is the first confirmed outbreak associated with the annual festival in at least 20 years. At least 15 people were hospitalized after eating contaminated food from the Pars Cove restaurant booth at the Taste of Chicago.

Salmonella side affects include diarrhea, fever and abdominal cramping. These symptoms may last anywhere from 12 to 72 hours after the body has been infected. In some people the infection may be so severe that hospitalization is required. If you or someone you know developed symptoms of salmonella or was diagnosed with salmonella after attending the Taste of Chicago festival, contact an attorney immediately. You may be able to take legal action against Pars Cove and/or the City of Chicago. An attorney can explain your legal rights and possible relief.
