Medtronic, Inc. removed its Sprint Fidelis Defibrillator leads from the market on October 15, 2007. The company decided to stop sales of these leads because they are prone to fractures and can cause unnecessary shocks to the patient. They can also fail to work.

Medtronic states that the likelihood of failure is minimal, but reliance on a defibrillator is literally a life and death matter. A person with a malfunctioning defibrillator may die as a result of the device failing. If you or someone you know currently has Sprint Fidelis Defibrillator Leads inplanted or died as a result of a malfunction in their defibrillator, contact an attorney immediately.
