Several complaints have recently surfaced and lawsuits are being filed as a result of women developing rashes and hives after wearing Victoria's Secret's bras. The rashes have resulted in extreme pain, inflammation and can leave scars. It is believed that formaldehyde is being used in the bras and causing the reaction.

Victoria's Secret has acknowledged they have received complaints, but the bras are still being sold. The bras that are causing the reactions are believed to include the Angels Secret Embrace bra and the Very Sexy Extreme Push-Up bra, though others may also cause a reaction.

If you believe you have side effects from wearing a Victoria's Secret bra you should seek medical attention. Do not dispose of the bra. You should also contact an attorney to find out what your legal rights are and if you have a potential claim.

I've worn Victoria Secret all my life, and while I was on a business trip for 6 weeks, recently bought two more of the Very Sexy bras. The week before I returned home I had to go to the emergency room because my right breast was three times the size of my other and was extrememly red and hot. Both breast were itchy but something was very wrong with my right breast. The doctor told me I had an infection but that he couldn't explain why since I am not pregnant and/or breast feeding. He treated me with antibiotics and sent me for a mammogram. Since then I've been treated with more antibiotics and a repeated ultra sound on my right breast. They said something that is coming in contact with my breast is causing this infection and I just wondered if it could possibly be related to my bras?

I bought new angel's bras over the summer and had an unexplained rash over my chest and torso that spread throughout my body. It took weeks to go away. I'm still wearing the bra but perhaps it's been washed several times since and no longer causes a threat? Any opinion on if washing the bra several times helps?

Teri:

If you are concerned about a possible ongoing threat from the bra, you may want to speak with a medical professional. A doctor can advise you on long term problems and if it is safe to continue wearing the bra.
