A recall on dog and cat food is affecting pet's throughout the nation. As posted yesterday, there are 40 brands of cat food and 51 brands of dog food that may have possible contamination. The food, if ingested, can cause kidney failure in the animals and lead to death. A Chicago woman, watched her 9 year old cat die from kidney failure last week and is one of the first lawsuits filed against Menu Foods, Inc.

A Federal investigation is currently ongoing to determine what the company knew about the food contamination. At this time it has been reported that during taste testing of the food, of 25 cats that tasted the food, nine died.

If your pet became sick or died because of ingesting the recalled pet food you may be entitled to reimbursement for your pet's veterinary expenses.
